BD Drive

One-Blue has created a batch-based licensing system based on registration by manufacturers of registered Blu-ray Disc products, enabling those manufacturers who have registered with One-Blue to apply for licenses on a per-batch basis and to apply for Licensed Status Confirmation Documents. LSCDs are required for the purpose of confirming that the relevant shipment of such registered products is licensed.

One-Blue offers agreements to manufacturers of BD Drive that specify the terms and conditions under which manufacturers use certain essential patents for BD Drive.

One‐Blue grants a BD Drive Registration Agreement under the following patents (click below). Please note these are the current patent lists available at the time of publication; lists are renewed on a regular basis. Lists contain both technically and commercially essential patents.

Patent list is not exhaustive at this time. One-Blue will be continually updating the list as licensors provide their patents.

One-Blue offers worldwide non-transferable, non-assignable, non-exclusive licenses, with no right to sublicense, under the US Patents and Non-US Patents respectively.

The royalty rates for licenses differ according to the product categories indicated below.

Royalty Report Form - Royalty Reporting will be processed through our Designated Internet Service Portal (DISP). Provided you are registered with the One-Blue licensing program and have the required authorizations, you will be able to report using the DISP.  Please click here for more information.

The rates of the product license program offer a considerable discount on cumulative royalties that otherwise would have to be paid for the individual format licenses. These discounts are at least 40% on the cumulative royalty rates.

We have established what we believe to be a reasonable royalty for the technologies offered both from a licensor and licensee perspective, taken into account the market and prices for BD products and the superior customer experience of these technologies.
